Fix GTK theme for VMware Player
This is a fix for ugly GTK themes for VMware Player. This happens because VMware packages it's own GTK as part of the VMware Player application. It may or may not be themed the way the rest of your system is. Probably not.
This fix works on openSUSE 11.4. I don't claim that it will work on anything else, but at least it may lead you in the right direction.
Find the file /usr/lib/vmware/libconf/etc/gtk-2.0/gtkrc.
Edit that gtkrc using your favorite text editor. Comment out the current theme and add your own. An example is shown below.
# gtk-theme-name = "Clearlooks" gtk-theme-name = "Oxygen Molecule" # include "Clearlooks.gtkrc" include "/usr/share/themes/Oxygen-Molecule/gtk-2.0/gtkrc"
This example uses the Oxygen Molecule theme. You may not have that installed or you might want a different theme. Take a look in the /usr/share/themes directory to see what your options are.
